Checkers Leveille Returns From Monarchs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - General manager and head coach of the Charlotte Checkers Derek Wilkinson announced today that forward Michel Leveille has completed his Professional Tryout agreement with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and will join the team for the home game on Wednesday night against the Elmira Jackals at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Leveille, 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, spent last season playing with both the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and the Columbia Inferno playing 41 and four games respectively. During that time, the University of Maine graduate recorded nine goals and three assists with the Marlies while compiling one goal and four assists for the Inferno. Leveille suited up in 20 games with Manchester this season scoring one goal and six assists for seven points.

The Checkers are getting ready for their 16th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game will take place on Dec. 17 against the Elmira Jackals at 7:00 p.m. In the team's 15-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 11 times including four consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers are entering their fourth season of play at Time Warner Cable Arena. As the holiday season approaches the Checkers are offering $10 tickets for all seats for select games in December.
