Salmon Kings' Goalies Switch Places

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that goaltender Julien Ellis has been recalled to the Manitoba Moose while goaltender Jonathan Boutin has been returned by Manitoba to Victoria.

Ellis returned to the Salmon Kings line-up on November 29th posting a 2-1 win over the Utah Grizzlies. It was Ellis's first start since suffering a sprained ankle in a Vancouver Canucks rookie game in mid-September.

Since returning Ellis has posted a 4-1-0 record with a 1.41 goals against average, a 0.948 save percentage and one shutout.

Boutin played in one game for Manitoba since being loaned on November 24th. The Granby, QC native allowed four goals on 38 shots in a 4-3 loss at San Antonio.

Prior to joining the Moose Boutin had backstopped the Salmon Kings to 6-3-1-1 record this season, and has been a recipient of the RbK Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week once this season.

Boutin has earned a goals-against-average of 2.64 to go along with a save percentage .909 this season. Over his seven starts during the month of November he was 4-2-1-1 with two shutouts, a goals-against-average of 2.06 and a save percentage of .929.

The Salmon Kings and Alaska Aces meet this week for a three-game set that begins on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. The second and third games go on Friday and Saturday nights also beginning at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are still available call 250-220-7777.
