ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (1-0-0-0), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, took their first pre-season game against the Las Vegas Wranglers (0-3-0-0) with a decisive 5-1 victory on Saturday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena before a crowd of 5,366.

The Reign didn't waste any time with a goal at 1:13 of the first period from last year's All-ECHL Rookie, Mario Lamoureux. The goal was assisted by returning Reign skaters Cameron Burt and Brady Calla. Las Vegas evened the score at 13:20 with a goal from Charlie Cook on a rush into the Reign end. Cook beat Hutchinson's glove for the equalizer.

Ontario re-established the lead in the second period when rookie winger Zach O'Brien netted a top shelf wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle at 4:08; fellow rookie Brett Beebe earned the assist. With 2:06 remaining in the period, Beebe earned his second point of the game with his rebound goal of a shot from Mike Towns. Beebe slipped the puck past Wranglers goaltender Travis Fullerton who couldn't get his blocker up quick enough.

When the Reign were on the power-play for a Wranglers holding penalty, rookie Dylan Wruck beat the blocker of Fullerton to give Ontario a 4-1 lead at 15:16 of the final frame; Derek Couture and Jake Newton had the helpers. Just 79 seconds later, Towns went on a mini breakaway and ripped a shot past Fullerton to complete his Gordie Howe Hat Trick at 16:35.

Hutchinson earned the win stopping all but one of his 16 shots; Fullerton took the loss with 28 saves on 33 shots.
