Orlando and Florida meet for the second straight night after the Solar Bears defeated the Everblades 5-4 in last night's matchup. The Solar Bears jumped out to an early lead, as F Jacob Lagace, F Nick McParland, F Marshall Everson, and F Mike Ullrich all scored in the first to give the Solar Bears a 4-0 lead going into the second period. After Ullrich notched his second of the game midway through the frame, the Everblades mounted a comeback wtih a late second period goal and drew to within one just past the halfway point of the third. Orlando held the 5-4 advantage late in the contest and killed off a penalty with 33 seconds to play to earn the win. The Solar Bears close out preseason action tonight and will play their first home game on Saturday, October 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center.

Head Coach Vince Williams made his Solar Bears debut last night... F Mike Ullrich was the only player on either side to score multiple goals. Both came on the power play... D George Hughes had two assists in the first period last night... G Allen Ruane started his first professional game... The Solar Bears received two players from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) yesterday in G Christopher Gibson and D Zach Yuen. Gibson is expected to start tonight... Orlando finished last season with a 7-8-1-0 record against the Everblades... D Alexander Milley and G Kris Kavanagh were released from their PTO's yesterday... D Mark Nemec was traded to the Colorado Eagles for future considerations on Thursday.
