
Reign Acquire Rutherford from Mavericks for Walker

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, have announced that the club has received veteran forward David Rutherford from the Missouri Mavericks in exchange for veteran forward Geoff Walker.
Rutherford, 27, has played in 35 games with Missouri this season, tallying 20 points (6g-14a) and 49 penalty minutes.
The native of Ladner, British Columbia has played in 356 professional games, totaling 303 points (140g-163a) and 500 penalty minutes. Rutherford captured a Kelly Cup Championship with the Florida Everblades in 2011-12.
Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-9, 179-pound winger played for the Vancouver Giants and Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League, amassing 111 points (57g-54a) and 242 penalty minutes in 163 games. Rutherford helped Spokane capture the Memorial Cup in 2007-08 alongside current Reign forward Judd Blackwater.
Walker, 27, had played in 36 games with Ontario this season, posting 26 points (12g-14a) and 31 penalty minutes.
