Aces Sign G Eric Levine, G Niklas Lundstrom Recalled to Chicago

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, three-time Kelly Cup champions, announced today that the team has signed goaltender Eric Levine (Leh-VIGHN) to standard player contract (SPC) and that the St. Louis Blues have recalled rookie goaltender Niklas Lundstrom from the Aces to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

Levine, 26, will suit up for the Aces beginning this Friday, the opener of a nine-game homestand against the Idaho Steelheads beginning at 7:15 p.m. (GCI/KFQD) at Sullivan Arena.

This season, the 6-foot-3, 180 pound goaltender has a 4-3-1 record with a 2.86 goals against average in ten games with the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League. He also has appeared in four ECHL games with Fort Wayne and Indy with a 1-1-0 record and 3.11 goals-against-average.

The Wheeling, Il. Native earned career-bests in games played (23), wins (11) and save percentage (.912) as a rookie last season with Peoria, while his 2.70 goals-against-average ranked tied for sixth in the league.

Levine appeared in 72 career games in college with Robert Morris University (NCAA), compiling a 30-22-11 record, five shutouts, .925 save percentage and 2.69 goals-against-average which was followed by an amateur tryout offer (ATO) contract with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Levine began his 2013-14 rookie season signing a tryout contract and skating in training camp with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.

Lundstrom, 22, leaves the Aces with a record of 13-12-2 and goals against average of 3.21 in 27 games. He was selected by St. Louis in the fifth round (132nd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

The Aces are the official ECHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild of the NHL.
