K-Wings Renew ECHL Agreement
January 22, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
KALAMAZOO- The Kalamazoo Wings have renewed their ECHL agreement through the 2017-2018 season.
In June 2009, the K-Wings made the move to the ECHL because they wanted to bring the best product possible to the community. Other key contributors were the league's stability and its strong hockey-rich traditions. Six years later those sentiments still ring true today.
In their five previous seasons in the ECHL, the K-Wings have claimed four North Division titles, made two trips to the Eastern Conference Finals and were runners-up in the 2011 Kelly Cup Finals.
In addition to giving its fans fast-paced and affordable entertainment, the ECHL also provides a top-notch hockey environment for the best young players who are not playing in the AHL or NHL. The ECHL continues to build their relationship with the Professional Hockey Players' Association (PHPA) as the two work to grow the sport at the 'AA' level.
This year, the ECHL is celebrating its 27th season making it the third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League. Since its inception, 553 ECHL players have gone on to play in the NHL.
The K-Wings renewal agreement, which is the league standard three-year agreement, was last renewed during the 2011-2012 season.
Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan. These plans along with group ticket packages (15 or more people) may be ordered through the K-Wings front office by calling (269) 743-6011.
