Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, IA - Fighting Saints forward James Reeder has been named to the 2023 USA World Junior A Challenge roster.

Reeder is in his second season with the Saints after recording one of the best seasons by a Fighting Saint in a season before his draft eligibility during his rookie season. Reeder logged 34 points in his first season in the USHL, scoring 15 goals last season. Back for year two, Reeder is an alternate captain and has been tearing up the USHL of late.

In his current seven-game point streak, Reeder has four goals and 12 points. Overall, he has six goals and 13 assists. His 19 points are fourth-most in the USHL.

Reeder joins Saints associate head coach Evan Dixon representing Dubuque at the World Jr. A Challenge tournament this December.

"We are really proud that Jay has earned the opportunity to represent our country," said Dixon. "He is a talented player that is a leader both on and off the ice for us and we are confident he will bring that same impact to the national stage."

The 2023 World Junior A Challenge will be held from December 10-17 in Truro, Nova Scotia. Reeder will compete for Team USA against Canada West, Canada East, Slovakia and Sweden.
