Brink and Felicio Selected to US Junior Select Team
November 16, 2023 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
USA Hockey announced on Thursday that Finn Brink and Will Felicio are on the US Junior Select team that will compete in the 2023 World Junior A Challenge. This is the second straight season that the Capitols have had at least one player participate with Quinn Finley helping the US capture gold at the 2022 tournament. This is a great honor for Brink, in his first full season with the Caps, and Felicio, in his second season with Madison. Only 22 players, twenty skaters, were selected to the roster that will compete in Nova Scotia in December.
After playing before and after his high school season last year, Finn Brink has been one of the bright spots on the offensive end of the ice for Madison this season. With twelve points, he is tied for second on the team in that category. The Wisconsin commit has moved up and down the lineup this year playing in fifteen games with eleven different line combinations. That has not slowed him down, though, as he continues to contribute on the offensive end of the ice.
Felicio broke records his first year in the USHL and will now be representing his country for the second time in as many months. The Denver commit skated with the Hlinka Gretzky Cup roster and led US defensemen in points in that tournament. He is one of seven defensemen on the roster for the World Junior A Challenge. In fifteen games, the Massachusetts native has already scored more times than he did in 2022-23, his rookie season. He leads all Capitols defensemen in scoring with ten points this season.
The tournament takes place from December 10-17 in Truro, Nova Scotia. All teammates of the duo also play in the USHL, the only tier I junior league in the US.
The team returns home to face the Green Bay Gamblers in the first edition of the 2023-24 Wisconsin Cheese Cup presented by Odyssey. The game is also themed as Wine Night (Taylor's Version). Come out to not only enjoy all of the wine specials but also jam out to all of Taylor Swift's music. Tickets for Friday's game can be found at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
MC84 memberships, group tickets and experiences, suites, and other premium areas are now on sale. Gain access to these areas by calling the front office at 608-257-2277.
