Redwolves Clinging to Playoff Life
August 2, 2012 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Florence RedWolves News Release
After last night Morehead City has taken over the 8th seed and we are currently out of the playoffs. In order for us to get back in, here are the scenarios that have to happen tonight according to the info sent to us by the league.
1. We have to win tonight
2. Columbia has to win tonight
3. Martinsville has to lose tonight. Currently they are tied with Columbia for the 2nd half lead. Martinsville holds the tiebreaker so if they win tonight they win the 2nd half and get the 8th seed no matter what everyone else does
4. Morehead City has to lose. If they win we can't catch them
If just one of these things does not happen tonight then we are eliminated.
One other scenario that could keep us out. If Columbia loses and Gastonia wins then Gastonia would win 2nd half and get in by 1/2 game over Columbia/Martinsville. Gastonia and Martinsville play each other so Columbia has to win to and we would need Gastonia to beat Martinsville to keep us alive.
You can check coastalplain.com tonight to see the scores as they come in. If all of these things happen then we reclaim the 8th seed and will play at home on Saturday at 7:30.
