RedHawks Win Rain-Shortened Game, 2-0

Oklahoma City Baseball Club News Release

Oklahoma City, Okla. - A hail storm in the fifth inning ended Tuesday's game early as the Oklahoma City RedHawks (29-23) won 2-0 over the Nashville Sounds (20-31) before 2,935 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Dallas Keuchel tossed five scoreless innings and earned his second career shutout. Keuchel (5-4) won for the first time in his last six starts, and despite giving up four hits, he faced the minimum due to two double plays, a pickoff, and a caught stealing. He struck out three and walked none.

Sounds pitcher Brian Baker was matching Keuchel, retiring the first seven batters he faced and allowing one hit through three innings. In the fourth, Jimmy Paredes knocked a two-out RBI double to end a personal 0-for-16 drought and give the RedHawks a 1-0 lead.

Brad Snyder added an RBI double in the fifth to make it 2-0. Scott Moore followed with a groundout, and after the play was over, the umpiring crew stopped the game as winds picked up and heavy rain began to fall. A couple of minutes later, dime-sized hail littered the field.

Making the start in place of Mike Fiers, who was recalled to Milwaukee, Baker (1-3) allowed two runs and four hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out four and walked one.

The RedHawks have won eight of nine games against the Sounds this season and the two teams will meet again Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available through the RedHawks box office, by calling (405) 218-1000, or online at okcredhawks.com.

Live coverage will begin at 6:35 p.m. on AM 1340 The Game, 1340thegame.com, or through the free IHeartRadio app on your mobile device.
