Redbirds Rally by Round Rock

MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis used a ninth inning rally to comeback and beat Round Rock 4-3 Wednesday night at AutoZone Park.

With the score tied 3-3 and two outs, Bryan Anderson gave the Redbirds their first lead of the night with a single to right field to score a sliding Pete Kozma. Anderson's game-winning hit notched the Redbirds third walk-off win this season.

Round Rock led 1-0 through the first five innings before Jamie Romak's sacrifice fly plated Lou Montanez to put the 'Birds on the board. The Express tacked one on in the seventh, only to have Eugenio Velez answer back in the bottom of the frame with a home run to left field to tie the score at two. Yangervis Solarte's RBI-double in the eighth put Round Rock back on top, but Romak's base hit to the shortstop plated Montanez again to tie it back up.

Fernando Salas picked p the win for Memphis tossing a perfect ninth inning and striking out two. Mark Hamburger was pegged with the loss for Round Rock allowing two runs over the final 1.1 innings. Memphis starter Joe Kelly gave up two runs, one earned, on five hits over seven innings with three walks and two strikeouts.

The 'Birds and Express square off tomorrow night with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. Shelby Miller takes the ball for the Redbirds against right-hander Greg Reynolds. Every Thursday, fans can receive half off game day ticket prices with a receipt from Subway, limit four.
