Today's Game: The RedHawks return home to open a five-game series against Albuquerque at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks enter play tonight three games in front of the Isotopes for the American Southern Division lead. Postgame fireworks will be presented by Verizon.
Last Game: The RedHawks snapped a five-game losing streak and avoided a series sweep with an 8-2 win Thursday in Tucson. Oklahoma City took a 4-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning on a bases-loaded walk, a two-run triple by Jimmy Paredes and a squeeze bunt by Che-Hsuan Lin. Tucson responded in the bottom of the inning with a RBI single from Ben Francisco. A RBI single by George Springer extended the RedHawks to a 5-1 lead in the fifth. In the eighth inning, a two-run homer from Springer and a solo homer by Jon Singleton pushed Oklahoma City's lead to 8-1. Tucson's Jonathan Galvez hit a RBI double in the bottom of the eighth. RedHawks starting pitcher Jake Buchanan (5-3) turned in his sixth straight quality start, lasting a season-high 7.2 innings. He allowed two runs and seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts. The RedHawks drew nine walks, tying a season high for a nine-inning game.

Friendly Confines: The RedHawks enter tonight with a 12-game winning streak at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. During the streak they are batting .322 (126x391), including .329 (40x122) with runners in scoring position and have a 3.00 team ERA (36 ER/108.0 IP). It's the third-longest home winning streak in team history, and the all-time record is 14, set last year (May 10-June 7). Their current 38-22 home record is second-best in the Pacific Coast League, only behind Salt Lake (41-22).
Swingin' It: The RedHawks were outstanding at the plate throughout the Tucson series, hitting .343 as a team and scoring 25 runs over the four games. They batted .375 with runners in scoring position (15x40). They are hitting .299 as a squad in the month of August, which is second-best in the PCL, slightly behind league leader Nashville (.300).
Chasing the Crown: George Springer added to his Minor League-leading home run total with a two-run shot last night for his 33rd overall homer this season (14 with OKC). Springer also has 38 stolen bases and is the first player in the Minors to hit 30 home runs and steal at least 30 bases since former Oakland Athletics farmhand Grant Desme did so in 2009 (31 HR/40 SB).
As the Crowe Flies: Trevor Crowe is batting .441 (26x59) with five RBI during a 14-game hitting streak and now is hitting .397 (27x68) over 17 games since rejoining the team. Crowe also had a team-best 15-game hitting streak, April 6-21. He and Jimmy Paredes are the only two RedHawks this season to have two hitting streaks of at least 10 games.
The Laird Up There: Brandon Laird went 8-for-18 against Tucson with a two-run homer. He is batting .365 (19x52) in August and ranks first in the PCL with 18 RBI this month.
Rough Road: Last night, for the first and only time on their eight-game road trip, the RedHawks held their opponent to less than four runs. Entering the trip, the RedHawks had a 2.62 ERA as a team over the first 21 games following the All-Star Break. During the trip they posted a 6.95 ERA (51 ER/66.0 IP) and opponents batted .299 (78x261), including a .319 (29x91) mark with runners in scoring position. They walked 34 batters and stuck out 53. The RedHawks had allowed 12 runs in a game twice all season before the trip, but allowed at least 12 runs in a game twice over the eight contests, including a season-high 13 Tuesday.
Familiar Foes: The RedHawks just wrapped up a stretch of 16 straight games against Pacific Conference opponents, going 10-6. Tonight marks the first of 10 straight games against divisional opponents, as the RedHawks will travel to Round Rock for five games following this series. OKC is 19-19 within the division.
Speed Demons: The RedHawks and Isotopes are the two top base stealing teams in the PCL. The RedHawks lead the circuit with 157 steals, while the Isotopes have 145.
