Angels Option Tommy Hanson to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has optioned right-handed pitcher Tommy Hanson to Triple-A Salt Lake. Hanson is scheduled to start for Salt Lake in tonight's home Bees game against the Las Vegas 51s at Spring Mobile Ballpark at 7:05 p.m. The Angels also activated outfielder Peter Bourjos from the Disabled List and he will return to the team's active roster.

Hanson, 26, has appeared in 13 games (all starts) for the Angels in 2013, owning a 4-3 record with a 5.59 ERA and 52 strikeouts. He joined the Angels via trade from the Atlanta Braves on November 30, 2012 in exchange for reliever Jordan Walden. In five seasons in the majors, Hanson owns a 49-35 record with a 3.80 ERA and 644 strikeouts. The Redlands, Calif. native was originally selected by Atlanta in the 22nd round of the 2005 Draft.
