Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release
FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (11-10) used a mix of small ball and long ball to top the Lincoln SaltDogs (10-11) by a score of 6-4 Friday night at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, ND.
The RedHawks used walks and stolen bases to build a lead early in the game. Then, they were able to seal the victory late in the game with the help of solo home runs by Jason James and Nic Jackson.
Aside from the home runs, Mike Coles and Brian Ruggiano provided the majority of the offense for the RedHawks. Coles had a double, a walk, a stolen base, a run scored, and two RBI. Ruggiano had a double and a stolen base as well, while scoring two runs.
Oliver Odle went 6.1 innings without giving up a run to earn the win. Alex Maestri gave up five runs (all earned) on five hits over seven innings of work and ended up with the loss.
The RedHawks will be back at Newman Outdoor Field on Saturday, June 4, 2011 for the second game of their three-game series with the Lincoln SaltDogs.
