Fireworks and Boy Bands Kicks off Seven-Game Homestand

GARY, Ind. - Fireworks Friday returns to U. S. Steel Yard as the Gary SouthShore RailCats kick off a seven-game homestand packed with special guests, great free giveaways and action-packed American Association Baseball! Tickets are on sale now for all seven games with no seat in the house more than $10 and free parking all week long.

Great seats are still available all week, and the RailCats are the perfect getaway outing for your business, foundation, social club or just some friends and family. The U. S. Steel Yard Box Office is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and at 10 a.m. on the weekends when the 'Cats are at home. - Boy Band Night!

Is it "tearing up your heart" because there's no place to listen to your favorite boy bands? Well come join the RailCats as we celebrate the flashy/matching clothes, choreography, and lip syncing of the Boy Bands who drove girls and the world crazy. Sit back and relax or get up and dance as we surround you with songs new and old from bands such as N-SYNC, New Kids on the Block, Back Street Boys, New Edition, LFO, Boys II Men, Jonas Brothers, and many more. This Friday's game, like every other this season, will feature FIREWORKS following the game thanks to our friends at First Midwest Bank and The Post Tribune, so make sure you stick around and don't leave early!

Saturday, June 4, 6:10 p.m. RailCats vs. Winnipeg Goldeyes

- Where's Waldo Night

A kid's classic book series comes to life on "Where's Waldo" Night as the RailCats invite you to try and find Waldo at the ballpark. Just as in the books, the RailCats will have a number of challenges for you to complete for a number of great prizes but the grand prize will go to the one lucky fan who finds Waldo! Souvenir Saturday means that the first 1,500 fans to enter the ballpark on this night will receive a free RailCats Beanie/Winter Hat, courtesy Salvi, Schostok and Pritchard, P.C.

Whether you support the red and blue or the black and white, the RailCats have something for you on this night. Join us as we pay tribute to our major league neighbors from Chicago! In honor of the RailCats two Chicago neighbors, the Lovable Losers and the Good Guys, the RailCats will be giving away baseball gloves (Holy Cow!), courtesy of NIEMI Associates, to the first 1,000 kids to enter U. S. Steel Yard on this night. Don't miss a special treat as American Idol's Chris Medina will be on hand to sing the National Anthem and perform a solo in honor of SOLO Night at U. S. Steel Yard. Inspired by the red plastic cups of the same name, the 'Cats will salute everything "solo" on this night. Included in this tribute will be a life-sized game of Beirut putting a new spin on a classic game featuring everyone's favorite red cup. Also don't forget that this night is a Dollar Monday! All summer long on Mondays get $1 hot dogs, popcorn, pop, programs, merchandise and more throughout the park. And the best part? No worries, the 'Cats will have the clippers out giving out the "Joe Dirt" hairdo for free! So join in on the Billy Ray Cyrus fun and you will have a chance to win the special prize for the best mullet of the night! You might say "It's Only Rock and Roll" but all you need is a "Ticket to Ride" and the RailCats will give you all the "Help!" you need to remember the day you were invited to Meet the Beatles whether it was on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 or as recently as "Yesterday," so come pay your respects to the Old Empire RailCats style! Also Thursdays include the celebration of social media and with this in mind the 'Cats will welcome four of Rusty's Facebook faithful to the mound to throw the first pitch, join Rusty RailCat on Facebook and maybe you will be on the mound!
