Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release
FARGO - Nic Jackson hit a three-run triple in the eighth to highlight a five-run inning that helped the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks beat the Sioux Falls Canaries 11-3 Monday at Newman Outdoor Field.
The contest between the RedHawks and Canaries totaled one hour and 45 minutes in delays due to rain and a power outage in the eighth inning.
Ron Bourquin walked and Todd Jennings singled to get the first RedHawks on base in the eighth with Fargo-Moorhead leading 6-3. After Zach Penprase and Mitch Einertson both reached base on fielding errors, Nic Jackson picked up his second hit of the ballgame by driving a triple off the center-field wall - extending the RedHawks lead to 10-3.
C.J. Retherford hit an RBI single before the lights went out with Keith Brachold up to bat with two outs and Fargo-Moorhead up 11-3 - two hours and 37 minutes into the game. The game start had been delayed 48 minutes due to rain.
