RedHawks Sign William Jackel, Release Casey Hoorelbeke

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed RHP William Jackel to a contract and released RHP Casey Hoorelbeke, the American Association club announced. Jackel will be in uniform tonight as the RedHawks begin a four-game home stand against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Newman Outdoor Field.

Jackel, 25, spent the beginning of the 2011 season with Winnipeg. He was 0-0 with a 5.24 ERA in 22 games. Jackel allowed 14 runs (13 earned) on 25 hits in 22.1 innings pitched. He struck out 12 batters and walked eight for the Goldeyes.

In 2010, Jackel was 5-4 with a 3.25 ERA and two saves in 46 games for the Joliet JackHammers of the Northern League. In 55.1 innings, Jackel allowed 25 runs (20 earned) on 60 hits while striking out 44 batters.

Hoorelbeke was 2-2 with a 5.91 ERA and four saves in 27 games for Fargo-Moorhead this year.
