Kansas City starting pitcher Matt Mitchell pitched a complete game shutout as the T-Bones edged the Wichita Wingnuts 1-0. Mitchell fanned four hitters and allowed just four hits in the game. With the win, the right-hander improves his record to 2-2 this season. The T-Bones scored the game's only run in the top of the first when Kansas City C Kala Kaaihue's sacrifice fly to center plated CF Keanon Simon. T-Bones 3B Rico Washington, RF Ray Sadler, 2B Gerardo Caceres and Simon all had two hits in the game. For Wichita, SS Josh Horn had two hits in a losing effort.
Shreveport-Bossier 13, Fort Worth 4
Shreveport-Bossier C Brian Peterson had four RBIs as the Captains rolled past the Fort Worth Cats 13-4. Peterson hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the seventh inning and hit a three-RBI triple in the eighth inning. Shreveport-Bossier CF Robert Perry hit a two-run homer in the third inning. Perry went 1-for-2 at the plate in the game and scored four runs. Captains SS Uriak Marquez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs, including a solo home run in the top of the fourth. Captains 3B Andres Rodriguez had four hits in five at-bats, batted in two runs and scored twice in the game. Captains starting pitcher Ryan DiPietro was credited with the win, tossing eight innings and allowing four runs on five hits. For the Cats, DH John Allen hit a three-run home run, his seventh homer of the season.
