Fort Worth 12, Shreveport-Bossier 2
Wade Mackey pitched a complete game, allowing just six hits, two runs and striking out five, as he led Fort Worth to a 12-2 win against Shreveport-Bossier at LaGrave Field. The Cats scored in five different innings, including four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Shreveport-Bossier led Fort Worth 1-0 going into the second after center fielder Robert Perry scored from a Bryan Sabatella single. In the bottom of the second inning, first baseman Trent Lockwood and center fielder Brian Fryer hit back-to-back solo home runs to help Fort Worth take back the lead, and the Cats held it for the rest of the game. Five different Cats had multiple hits in the game, and Lockwood led with three hits, three RBI and one run in five at-bats. Right fielder Marcos Rodriguez scored three of Fort Worth's 12 runs. First baseman Andres Rodriguez was the only Captain to record multiple hits in the game, and he led Shreveport-Bossier with two hits and one RBI in four at-bats.
Amarillo 5, Grand Prairie 4
Right fielder Tim Alberts hit a two-RBI single to right field in the bottom of the eighth inning, which would be just enough to help Amarillo earn a 5-4 win against Grand Prairie at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium. Amarillo scored in the bottom of the second inning when catcher Kevin Butler batted in Alberts and put the Sox ahead 1-0. Grand Prairie scored the next three runs before the Sox scored two more in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score 3-3. Amarillo tacked on two more in the bottom of the eighth, and the AirHogs scored one run in the top of the ninth, but it wasn't enough to topple the Sox. Designated hitter Fehlandt Lentini led Amarillo with three hits and two RBI in three at-bats, and Butler chipped in two hits, one RBI and one run. Center fielder Danny Figueroa led Grand Prairie with three hits, one RBI and one run in four at-bats. Justin Garcia earned his sixth win of the season, allowing nine hits, three runs and striking out five in eight inning pitched.
Kansas City 6, El Paso 2
Kansas City scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning en route to a 6-2 win against El Paso at Community America Ballpark. El Paso took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when left fielder Chad Gabriel hit a solo home run, but the T-Bones came back in the fourth when catcher Johnny Bowden hit a two-RBI single to center field and second baseman Gerardo Caceres followed with an RBI double. Kansas City tacked on two more in the bottom of the seventh inning when center fielder Keanon Simon and right fielder Ray Sadler each batted in a run. El Paso scored in the top of the eighth, but it wouldn't be enough to top the T-Bones. Bowden led Kansas City with three hits and three RBI in four at-bats, and Simon chipped in two hits, one RBI and one run. Reid Santos earned his sixth win of the season, allowing seven hits, two runs and striking out six in 7.1 innings pitched.
Lincoln 8, Wichita 5
Lincoln was beating Wichita 7-1 after the fourth inning, and the Saltdogs held onto their lead and beat the Wingnuts 8-5 at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. Wichita took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when first baseman Jorge Delgado singled and drove in center fielder Brent Clevlen. Lincoln scored four runs on five hits in the top of the second inning, and added three more in the fourth with the help of first baseman Phil Hawke's two-RBI single. Wichita scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth and one in each of the eighth and ninth innings, but it wasn't enough to complete a comeback. Left fielder Gavin Dickey led Lincoln with three hits and one run in five at-bats, and center fielder Blake Gailen chipped in two RBI, two hits and one run. Six different Wingnuts had multiple hits, and Wichita recorded a total of 18 in the game. Tim Brown earned his fifth win of the season, allowing 11 hits, three runs and striking out three in 6.2 innings pitched.
St. Paul 7, Gary SouthShore 6
St. Paul scored all seven of its runs early in the game, and held onto its lead as Gary SouthShore tried to rally back, and the Saints beat the RailCats 7-6 at Midway Stadium. St. Paul took a 4-0 lead in the first inning after designated hitter Ole Sheldon hit an RBI single, and first baseman Jason Cooper followed with a three-run homer. The Saints scored two more in the next frame when third baseman Ronnie Bourquin and Sheldon each batted in a run. St. Paul scored its final run of the game in the third inning when right fielder Brandon Tripp hit a solo home run. Gary SouthShore scored runs in each of the third, fourth, sixth and eighth innings in an attempt to come back, but the Saints edged the RailCats. St. Paul recorded 14 total hits in the game, and Cooper led with two hits, three RBI and one run in three at-bats. First baseman Mike Rohde had three hits and two runs for Gary SouthShore.
Winnipeg 4, Fargo-Moorhead 0
Chris Salamida, now 6-1 on the season, allowed six hits, no runs and struck out seven in seven innings pitched as he helped Winnipeg shut out Fargo-Moorhead 4-0 at Newman Outdoor Field. Winnipeg scored two of its runs in the top of the second when right fielder Brian Joynt hit a two-RBI single. The Goldeyes scored two more in the top of the sixth when designated hitter Justin Bass and second baseman Price Kendall each batted in a run. Four different Goldeyes recorded multiple hits in the game, and catcher Luis Alen led with two hits and two runs in three at-bats. Third baseman C.J. Retherford led Fargo-Moorhead with two hits in four at-bats.
Sioux City 9, Sioux Falls 7
First baseman Kent Sakamoto had three hits, two RBI and three runs to lead Sioux City to a 9-7 win against Sioux Falls at Sioux Falls Stadium. Sioux City scored the first four runs during the first and third innings when catcher Ray Serrano, first baseman Brett Flowers and second baseman Derek Schermerhorn each had at least one RBI, but the Pheasants tied the score in the bottom of the third inning when third baseman Trevor Lawhorn had an RBI-triple, right fielder Gus Milner hit a sacrifice fly and first baseman Brandon Sing followed with a two-run homer. Sioux City scored the next five runs before the Pheasants tacked on three more in the bottom of the ninth, but it wasn't enough to top the Explorers. Sing led Sioux Falls with two hits, two RBI and two runs in three at-bats, and Schermerhorn chipped in two RBI, three hits and one run for Sioux City. Matt Gibbs earned his fifth win of the season, allowing one hit, no runs and striking out one in four innings pitched.
