FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks added a pair of rookies to the roster today as the club signed C Connor Andrus and 1B Tyler Peterson. Both players will be in uniform tonight as the RedHawks continue their three-game series with the Ottawa Champions of the Can-Am League at Newman Outdoor Field at 6:00 p.m.

Andrus, 22, joins the RedHawks after completing his college career at Winston-Salem State University this spring. This spring he batted .380 with 11 doubles, six home runs, 56 RBIs and 42 runs scored in 56 games and was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Player of the Year and the CIAA Tournament MVP as he led the Rams to a the conference title berth in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament.

Andrus spent his final three seasons of college baseball at Winston-Salem State after beginning his career at Western Carolina University. In four seasons, he batted .325 with 33 doubles, 11 home runs, 140 RBIs and 111 runs scored in 184 games played. He also threw out 36 percent (52 of 144) of all would-be base-stealers.

Peterson, 23, is a native of Eden Prairie, Minn., and a graduate of St. Thomas University in St. Paul. He was the MIAC Player of the Year in 2014 and a NCAA Division III First Team All-American as he led the Tommies to the 2014 Division III College World Series. He appeared in 12 games for the St. Paul Saints in 2014, batting .229 with two doubles, four RBIs and eight runs scored.

During his senior season at St. Thomas, Peterson batted .473 with 18 doubles, eight home runs, 50 RBIs and 43 runs scored in 39 games. He transferred to St. Thomas for his junior season after spending two years at Northern Iowa Community College.
