RedHawks Rally Past Goldeyes in Ninth

FARGO, ND - The Winnipeg Goldeyes (11-10) lost 3-2 to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field on Thursday night.
With the Goldeyes leading 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth, the RedHawks (12-8) rallied for two runs to win the game. Kes Carter led off with a bloop single to right. After Bryan Johns struck out trying to sacrifice, Chad Mozingo singled to right-centre to put the tying and winning runs on base. Ryan Pineda drove in Carter with a double to deep left to knot the game at 2-2. After Keury de la Cruz was intentionally walked, Josh Mazzola lined a single to left-centre to score Mozingo with the winning run.
Jailen Peguero (2-2) took the loss in relief, allowing two earned runs in one-third of an inning. Peguero's strikeout of Johns in the ninth was the 1,000th of his professional career (Major Leagues, affiliated minor leagues, and independent leagues).
Dan Sattler (2-0) earned the win in relief for Fargo-Moorhead with one and two-thirds scoreless innings.
The Goldeyes struck first in the top of the second. Jacob Rogers doubled to left-centre. Two batters later, Casio Grider ripped a two-out, RBI single through the left side to give the Goldeyes a 1-0 lead.
Fargo tied it in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded and one out, Luke Bailey hit a sacrifice fly to centre that scored Mazzola with the tying run.
The Goldeyes answered right back in the top of the fifth to regain the lead. With one out, Adam Heisler tripled to the wall in left-centre and scored on Maikol Gonzalez's line drive single to right.
Goldeyes' starter Mikey O'Brien took a no-decision, allowing one earned run on six hits in six and one-third innings. O'Brien walked three and struck out five.
RedHawks' starter Taylor Stanton also took a no-decision, allowing two earned runs on eight hits in seven and two-thirds. Stanton walked four and struck out two.
Eric Eadington retired both batters to face him after relieving O'Brien with one out in the bottom of the seventh.
Cameron McVey worked a scoreless eighth, stranding runners on second and third after Reggie Abercrombie made a diving catch in shallow centre field.
Grider finished the game with three hits.
