Oklahoma City Comets News Release
Papillion, Neb. - The Oklahoma City RedHawks (55-40) exploded for 10 runs in the sixth inning and Brad Snyder hit two home runs in a 16-6 romp over the Omaha Storm Chasers (58-38) before 4,033 at Werner Park Monday night.
The RedHawks tied a season high with 16 runs on 20 hits, seven of which went for extra bases. Eight players had multi-hit nights. Snyder led the team with five RBIs, Jimmy Paredes added four, and Landon Powell drove in three. Brandon Barnes reached base six times in seven plate appearances.
One night after winning by nine over New Orleans, the 10-run margin of victory of Omaha set a new season best.
Snyder opened up the scoring with a three-run shot out to right-center field in the second inning.
Leading off the fourth, Snyder went the other way with a line drive into the bleachers in left field to make it 4-0. It was Snyder's second multi-homer game of the season, and prior to Monday, Snyder had not hit a homer since June 16 at Round Rock.
Anthony Seratelli hit a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth to cut the RedHawks lead in half.
The RedHawks took complete command with a 10-run top of the sixth. The rally featured eight hits, two errors, and three wild pitches. The final eight runs scored with two outs, and Paredes capped it all with a three-run homer to center field.
Leading 16-3, the RedHawks plated their final two runs in the ninth on a two-run single by Powell against Omaha outfielder Mitch Maier.
Omaha finished the night scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth.
In his first full start since rejoining the RedHawks, Dallas Keuchel went six strong innings. Keuchel (6-4) allowed two runs and four hits. He walked a season-high five and struck out three.
Chris Dwyer was roughed up in his Triple-A debut, surrendering seven runs and 11 hits over five-plus innings. Dwyer (0-1) struck out five and walked three.
The RedHawks and Storm Chasers have a quick turnaround and will play again at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Live coverage begins at 11:35 a.m. on AM 1340 The Game, 1340thegame.com, or through the free IHeartRadio mobile app.
