The Winnipeg Goldeyes dropped the final game of a four-game series this afternoon, falling 8-4 to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks before 5,681 at Canwest Park.

Winnipeg opened the scoring off Matt Mossey in the third. With one out, Dustin Richardson walked and, with two out, Adam Frost, Juan Diaz and Kevin West singled, the latter two scoring runs. It became 4-0 in the fourth. With Dee Brown and Cody Ehlers aboard on errors, Marc Minicozzi hit a sacrifice fly to score Brown. Richardson singled and Cory Patton singled to score Ehlers.

Blanked through four by Bill Pulsipher, the RedHawks made it 4-2 in the fifth. Jeremiah Piepkorn singled and scored on a one-out double by Carlo Cota, who scored on a two-out single by Mike Coles. It became 6-4 in the fifth. With two on and one run already in, Alan Rick hammered one deep to right to give the visitors the lead.

As Yosandy Ibanez put up zeroes in relief, Fargo-Moorhead concluded the scoring in the eighth off Jordan Stewart. With the bases loaded and none out, Nic Jackson scored on a passed ball that moved the runners up. Piepkorn followed with a sacrifice fly to score Donzell McDonald to make it 8-4.

Mossey (4-1) picked up the win, allowing all four runs (two earned) on seven hits in five innings, walking one and fanning four. Pulsipher (1-3) took the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits in six innings with three walks and four strikeouts. Ibanez was brilliant in picking up his fourth save, allowing just two singles in four innings with two strikeouts and no walks.

Winnipeg is off to Schaumburg for four games with the Flyers before returning home on Monday to wind down the regular season with a seven-game homestand, the first three with Joliet before wrapping things up against Schaumburg.
