KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Victor Ferrante and Felix Jose drove in four runs each for the Schaumburg Flyers (36-48) in game two of tonight's doubleheader as they forced a split with the Kansas City T-Bones (37-46) with a 9-2 victory.

Ferrante put Schaumburg on the board first with a solo home run against Chris Rhoads (5-4) in the first inning. Jeff Helps answered with a two-run double off Ryan Gehring (5-9) in the bottom of the second to give the T-Bones a 2-1 lead.

Gehring faced the minimum over the next four innings thanks to a double play in the fifth. The left-hander allowed just two runs on seven hits in a seven-inning, complete game victory.

The Flyers retook the lead in the third on an RBI single by Ferrante. After scoring a single tally in the fourth, Schaumburg pushed four more runs across on three hits and an error in the fifth to chase Rhoads from the game. A three-run shot by Jose finished the right-handers' night.

Rhoads was charged with seven runs, six earned, on eight hits over four-plus innings in the loss. Cody McAllister retired all six batters he faced over his two innings in relief of Rhoads.

Schaumburg plated their final two runs on four hits against Weston Curles in the seventh. Ferrante again led the charge, driving in the first run with a triple before scoring on a groundout by Jose. Ferrante finished three-for-three with four RBI, falling a double shy of the cycle.

Ryan Knippschild (3-6, 4.72) looks to secure a series win for Kansas City tomorrow night as the Flyers counter with Alain Quijano (4-5, 5.80). First pitch is set for 7:05. For tickets, call 913-328-5618 or visit www.tbonesbaseball.com
