Tonight's Game-- The RedHawks will try to win consecutive games against the Albuquerque Isotopes for the first time this season when they meet at 7:05 p.m.

Last Night-- The RedHawks got hot at the plate late in the game and coupled that with a strong night from the pitching staff to down the Isotopes, 6-1. Albuquerque scored the game's first run during the fourth inning following a balk by Jarred Cosart. When the Isotopes dipped into their bullpen in the seventh, the RedHawks went to work at the plate. They loaded the bases with none out, and Brad Snyder delivered a two-run single off Erick Threets (5-4) to put the RedHawks in front. After a sac fly by Matt Downs, Mike Hessman connected on his 32nd home run of the season to make it 4-1. The RedHawks kept it going in the eighth. Snyder added another bases-loaded RBI single, and Hessman drew a walk with the bases full to extend the lead to 6-1. The RedHawks bullpen really shined, holding Albuquerque scoreless and facing the minimum over four innings. Enerio Del Rosario (4-1), Garrett Mock, and Chuckie Fick combined to limit the Isotopes to one hit with no walks and four strikeouts.

Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- Jose Cisnero looks to build off a strong start last time out in Iowa...Cisnero broke out of a recent slump against the I-Cubs, holding them to one run and three hits over six innings...He retired the first seven batters he faced as well as nine of the first 10...In his first at-bat since July 9, Cisnero roped a two-out, two-run double to claim his first career hit and plate the RedHawks' only runs of the night in their 2-1 victory...Cisnero has been a nice addition to the rotation since his promotion near the end of July...In three of his six starts he has allowed just one run, and he's given up two earned runs or less five times...Combined with his time with Double-A Corpus Christi, Cisnero has allowed one or no earned runs in 11 of his 26 starts this season...He currently is second among Astros farmhands with 140 strikeouts and third with 12 wins--a new career high...Albuquerque ace John Ely will start for the Isotopes...Ely leads the PCL in wins (14), strikeouts (162), and WHIP (1.12) while ranking second in innings (162.1) and third in opponent average (.242)...Earlier this season he was a Triple-A All-Star and yesterday was named a PCL Post-Season All-Star...Ely is coming off a no decision in Memphis in which he allowed two earned runs (three runs total) and three hits over seven innings...He had won six straight starts prior to that outing...Ely has lasted at least six innings in seven straight starts as well as in 11 of his last 12 games...He is 5-5 with a 3.55 ERA in 12 road starts and has not allowed more than three runs in 10 straight starts away from Albuquerque...In three starts against the RedHawks, Ely is 2-1 and has allowed eight runs and 22 hits over 16.2 innings (3.24 ERA) with 21 strikeouts and just four walks.

Busting Out-- After hitting just .227 during their nine-game road trip, the RedHawks racked up 15 hits last night. They had collected 18 hits total over their previous three games and had reached double digits in the hit column just four times in their previous 17 contests. It was also their highest hit total since a 16-hit attack against Iowa on July 24.

Breathing Room-- Until last night, the RedHawks had played in 10 straight games decided by three runs or less, with six of those decided by two runs or less.

Bases Loaded Bashers-- The RedHawks went 2-for-4 with the bases loaded last night, raising their season average to .376, the second-best mark in the league. (Omaha is tops at .379.) Brad Snyder had been 0-for-6 with the bases full until going 2-for-2 last night.

Power Back On?-- The RedHawks have hit home runs in back-to-back games for the first time since August 12-14 (13 games). They've hit just 14 HR this month, second-least in the PCL. Their .345 slugging percentage is the lowest in the league. Their previous low for slugging in a month was .429 in April.

Promising Pitching-- Although the pitching staff struggled a lot following the All-Star Break, it has vastly improved of late. Over the last 18 games the team ERA is 2.80 (50 ER/161 IP). The starters have turned in 11 quality starts and posted a combined 2.47 ERA (29 ER/105.2 IP) with 69 strikeouts and 29 walks. The team's ERA is under 5.00 for the first time since July 18.

Keeping it in the Park-- The RedHawks have allowed just six dingers over the last 16 contests, spanning 144 IP.

RISP-y Business-- Over the last 18 games, the RedHawks have limited their opponents to a .186 average with runners in scoring position (37-for-199).

Climbing Back-- The Redhawks have been playing better of late, winning nine of their last 14 games. However, they have gone 14-24 since July 19. They went from leading the division by two games to dropping to third place and falling 4.5 games back of first. They're only hitting .245 over the last 31 games (10-21).

Against the Isotopes-- The RedHawks have had all sorts of issues with Albuquerque, going 4-9 and dropping three of four in each of the first three series...The Isotopes have outscored the RedHawks 87-74 and are batting .341 as a team, slugging 19 homers...Brad Snyder has led the way for the RedHawks, hitting .406 with two homers and 10 RBIs...Landon Powell has driven in nine over 10 contests...If the RedHawks don't win two of the next three games, they will be eliminated from playoff contention.
