
Red Wings To Hold "Bark in the Park" This Sunday, July 18

The Rochester Red Wings and Purina® Dog Chow® announced today that the first-ever "Bark in the Park" event will be held this Sunday, July 18 when the Red Wings battle the Indianapolis Indians at 1:05 p.m. Fans can bring their pooch to the park for an afternoon of Red Wings Baseball. A special $5.50 ticket will get pet owners into a "Dog Pound" section in left-center field for the game; dogs are admitted free for this promotion. The gates will open at 12 noon.
To participate with a canine friend, fans must purchase a special "Bark in the Park" pass. Fans with dogs will enter Frontier Field using the Plymouth Ave. gates, and proceed directly into our "Dog Pound" section.
Some basic things to know for our July 18 "Bark in the Park" event:
* All dogs must be leashed and under the control of their owner in the "Dog Pound" section in left-center field * chairs and access to water and shade will be provided * bags and receptacles will be provided for each owner to pick up after their pet * no outside food or beverage may be brought into Frontier Field * please take into account any high heat/humidity weather conditions before taking any pet outside for an extended period of time Before the game, a special "Stupid Pet Tricks" exhibition will be held on the field for pet owners and dogs who can perform unusual, funny tricks. To be considered for this pre-game promotion, please submit a video clip displaying you and your dog in action. Clips can be e-mailed to NickS@RedWingsBaseball.com, dropped off on a CD to the Red Wings office, or mailed to Red Wings "Bark in the Park," One Morrie Silver Way, Rochester NY 14608. Please include pet owner's name, address, phone number and dog's name with your entry....and remember, this is not a competition, it is only an exhibition.
In addition, a special "Puppypalooza" exhibitor area will be set up in the Walk of Fame area just beyond the left field fence, adjacent to the "Dog Pound" seating area.
