
DAP Hosting State Jr. Legion Tournament

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-Historic Durham Athletic Park (DAP), operated by Minor League Baseball, will serve as the site of the 10th annual North Carolina Jr. American Legion State Championship Baseball Tournament, beginning tomorrow morning. Eight teams, including the host Cary Post 67 Bulls, will compete in a double-elimination tournament scheduled to culminate with the championship game on Tuesday, July 20.
Cary will try to capture its fifth state championship. The Bulls won the title in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008. Joining them in the tournament will be clubs from Belmont, East Duplin, Kernersville, Leland, Mooresville, South Caldwell and West Johnston.
Individual game tickets are $6 and a tournament pass costs $30.
