
Red Claws Squeak out a Tough Win Over Jam

BAKERSFIELD, March 27, 2011 - The Bakersfield Jam (28-19) lost to the Maine Red Claws (17-31) by a score of 91-107 at the Jam Events Center Sunday night. Maine snapped an eight-game loosing streak on the road.
Bakersfield came out hot tonight as they shot 61.1% from the field and hit 6-for-8 three-pointers en route to a 35-20 lead at the end of the 1st. Maine trimmed the deficit behind DeShawn Sims' 9 point second quarter performance and went into halftime being down just 49-56, as Craig Winder hit a jumper at the buzzer. The Red Claws got their first lead of the game at the 1:18 mark in the third period on a Kenny Hayes' floater. They went on to outscore the Jam 30-15 in the final period to come out victorious.
Drew Naymick recorded his tenth double-double of the season for the Jam, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. D'Andre Bell, Jeremy Wise, and Derrick Byars added 13 points each. Luke Zeller had 12 points on the night, 9 of which came in the 1st quarter.
DeShawn Sims recorded a double-double of his own, leading the Red Claws with 32 points and 12 rebounds. Center Magnum Rolle contributed 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Jamar Smith tallied 15 points, 7 of which came in the final period.
Up next, the Jam will face the Flash at Utah on Wednesday, March 30th at 6 p.m. PST. The Maine Red Claws return home to play the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Thursday, March 31st.
