Erie, Pennsylvania, Sunday, March 27, 2011 - Ivan Johnson and Blake Ahearn each scored 33 points to lead the Erie BayHawks past the Iowa Energy Sunday afternoon at Tullio Arena, 138-118.

Erie (30-18) jumped out to an early first quarter lead behind Johnson's 14 points and Ahearn put up 18 in the second frame to take the home team into halftime up by six, 67-61. Ahearn finished the half shooting 6-of-8 from three-point range.

The BayHawks used a big third quarter to extend their lead to 21 points entering the fourth. Iowa head coach Nick Nurse was ejected at the quarter break after a confrontation with the officials, but Erie continued to cruise in the game's final 12 minutes and avenge Friday night's loss to the Energy.

Erik Daniels added a double-double for Erie notching 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Other Erie players in double figures included Nate Linhart (13), Jermaine Beal (13), and Tasmin Mitchell (12).

Iowa (35-13) was again led by Curtis Stinson who had 36 points and 10 assists. Scott VanderMeer added 13 points and 10 rebounds, Stanley Robinson notched 22 points, Marqus Blakley added 14, Stefhon Hannah dropped in 12 and Moses Ehambe scored 10.

Erie remains in fifth place overall while Iowa has already secured the number one overall playoff spot. Both teams have just two games remaining in the regular season. Erie hosts Sioux Falls on Thursday and Iowa heads to New Mexico to face the Thunderbirds on Friday.
