Maine Celtics News Release

PORTLAND, ME - With a win tonight at Erie, the Maine Red Claws (26-23) moved one step closer to their first-ever playoff berth. A Red Claws' win or a loss by the Sioux Falls Skyforce (25-24) tomorrow night will send Maine to the postseason for the first time in the franchise's four-season history.

The Red Claws' win tonight eliminated the BayHawks from the playoff race while the Fort Wayne Mad Ants ensured themselves of a playoff spot with their win over Sioux Falls. Fort Wayne's win also guaranteed Tulsa a spot in the postseason, leaving just Maine and Sioux Falls fighting for the last remaining playoff spot.

The Red Claws and BayHawks will close out the 2012-13 regular season tomorrow night at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, PA at 7 PM. The Skyforce will be in action at Iowa at 8 PM.

This is the closest the Red Claws have come to the postseason since the team's inaugural season of 2009-10 when they were eliminated from contention by the Erie BayHawks in the last game of the season, losing out on a playoff invitation by virtue of a tiebreaker.
