The NBA D-League uses a unique playoff format where the three division winners have the opportunity to select their first round opponent from the teams ranked five through eight. The top-seeded division winner will select its opponent first, with the second and third ranked division winners following in that order. The fourth seed will play the remaining team.

All three rounds of the NBA D-League playoffs are best-of-three, with the lower seed hosting the first game and the higher seed hosting the second and then third game (if necessary).

Tulsa is 6-6 all-time in the postseason and has advanced at least one round in its previous two trips to the playoffs. The 66ers advanced to the NBA D-League Finals in 2010 and the semifinals in 2011.

Tulsa is 4-1 all-time in the first round of the playoffs.
