SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors have hired Danny Keith as Director of Corporate Sponsorships, the team announced today. Keith will lead the team's efforts to further integrate local and regional businesses into the Warriors' community initiatives and in-game operations.

Keith joins the Santa Cruz Warriors after spending three years as the Chief Development and Technology Officer of Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County. He founded the nonprofit Grind Out Hunger in 2003, which empowers the youth to raise awareness and funds for the nearly 20,000 children who go hungry in the Santa Cruz area. Under Keith's leadership, Grind Out Hunger has provided almost two million meals to the community in the last ten years.

"Corporate partnerships have evolved into complex community relations programs and Danny brings a tremendous amount of experience in this area," said Jim Weyermann, President of the Santa Cruz Warriors. "Our success this year in raising new funding for Grind Out Hunger though our relationship with Plantronics is the model going forward for many minor league sports teams. Danny has been very successful in working with a variety of organizations in Santa Cruz and understands our commitment to the local community."

"The Warriors have brought something special to this community and I am excited to join the team," said Keith. "Together we have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on Santa Cruz that goes beyond basketball, and I look forward to leveraging my existing network to bring like-minded people into the fold."
