Texas Legends News Release

Frisco, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), posted a major third quarter that helped lead them past the Springfield Armor 115-111.

A combination of hot shooting and persistent defense pushed the Legends through a strong second half. The team ended the first quarter down by six and matched Springfield's 32 to keep the same deficit going into the locker room. A strong defensive stand in the third held the Armor to 22 while the Legends posted 31 to take the advantage going into the final quarter. Both teams shot above 50% in fieldgoals, but the Legends found an advantage beyond the arc shooting 54.5% and 75% from the free-throw line.

Justin Dentmon had a season-high 42 points to lead the game in scoring. Melvin Ely had the team's only double-double and a season-high score with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Dwayne Jones came close with 9 points and 13 rebounds.

Springfield had six players with double-digit scores; the leader was Dennis Horner with the team's only double-double 24 points and 11 rebounds.

The Legends will once again face the Armor tomorrow night for their final game of the season at 7pm. For tickets or information call 214-469-0822.
