March 6, 2016 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release

WHITE PLAINS - The Westchester Knicks (23-17), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, fell to the Atlantic Division-leading Maine Red Claws (25-15) in a 126-88 route at the Westchester County Center.

Maine kicked things off with an 8-2 start and ran up as much as a 16-point advantage over Westchester in the first. The Red Claws shot a stunning 76 percent from the floor and got some extra help from six turnovers from the Knicks, resulting in 14 points. Maine came out of the quarter leading 38-24 over Westchester.

The Claws took advantage of a scoreless five minutes from the Knicks in the second, going on a 10-0 run to start the quarter. Luckily for Westchester, Maine's shooting cooled down to 36.4 percent but the Knicks still found themselves on a steep climb, down at one point by 24 points. At the half, the Red Claws led the Knicks 64-46.

The Knicks couldn't kick the Claws in the third, Maine running up 30 points over the home team while overpowering the rim with 16 rebounds. Westchester struggled across the board but particularly on the boards, grabbing just six. Heading into the final twelve minutes, the Knicks trailed 93-68.

It was more of the same in the final quarter, Maine dominating the quarter and ultimately the game. With the Red Claws' 126-88 win, the Knicks found themselves two games back in the Atlantic Division for the first time this season.

Westchester's bench gave solid support in the loss, with all four Knicks in double-digits coming off the pine. Ra'Shad James led the Knicks with 14 points and six rebounds. Keith Wright supplied 13 points, grabbing seven rebounds. Returning to Westchester fresh off of a 10-day contract with the New York Knicks, Jimmer Fredette finished with 12 points, as did Devondrick Walker.

Coty Clarke paced Maine in the win with 22 points, adding seven rebounds and five assists. Tim Frazier completed a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, Omari Johnson having one of his own with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Westchester Knicks hit the road for a two-game series beginning on Wednesday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. ET to take on the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers' affiliate. The game will be broadcast live on MSG 2 and on the NBA Development League's YouTube channel.
