Texas Legends News Release

Frisco, TX - The Texas Legends experienced a record crowd of 5,291 fans at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco during their Saturday night loss to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 97-86.

Ramon Dyer attacked the offensive glass with tenacity for 10 of his 15 rebounds. He also contributed 13 points to solidify his 7th double-double of the season.

Behind Dyer's strong rebounding performance Texas won the battle of the boards, 43-36, but the hot shooting of Rio Grande Valley (55.4%) was enough to put the game away.

The Legends struggled to defend the Vipers fast break attack as Rio Grande Valley produced 30 points in transition scoring on 10 of 13 possessions in the open court.

Texas was unable to buy a bucket making a mere 36.1% from the field, but they did manage to outscore the Vipers in the paint 44-41.

Texas (11-14) will lace it up again tomorrow as the Vipers (17-9) challenge the Legends in the second game of their back to back tipping off at 2:30PM on Sunday.
