Dakota Wizards News Release

Bismarck, N.D. - In front of 6,189 fans the Dakota Wizards put on a show

against conference leading Iowa Energy. Dakota used the fans energy to help force Iowa into 21

turnovers and cruised to a 117-97 victory. Former Energy player, Stefhon Hannah led the way

for the Wizards with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Chris Wright, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, made his presence known in the

first quarter as he slammed home a monster jam followed by an easy lay-up and a block on

defense to help give the Wizards a 5 point lead after the first. Dakota kept Iowa on their heels

throughout the second quarter going up 32-23 on a Tommy Smith running dunk. Iowa had no

answer for Hannah either as he scored 12 of his game high 31 points going 4-6 from the 3 point

line in the second. Dakota would take a 9 point lead into the half, 60-51.

Iowa stumbled out of the locker room in the third quarter scoring only 17 points compared to

Dakota's 30. Dakota's lead would swell to 24 points late in the third on another trey by Hannah

and a lay-up by Wright, 88-64. Moses Ehambe tried to put Iowa on his back and help them cut

into the Wizards lead but Dakota would have an answer for every punch in form of Hannah

again as he scored 12 points in the quarter. An Ehambe 3 pointer at the buzzer made the score

117-97 in favor of the home team.

Helping Hannah carry the team was Wright who recorded 24 points on 11-14 shooting, snagged

8 rebounds, and had 4 steals.

Bench players led the way for Iowa in the loss. Ehambe came off the bench for Iowa to score 23

points on 10-16 shooting and Nick Murphy came in to score 15.

Dakota improves to 11-12. With the loss, Iowa drops to 17-7.
