Rebels Acquire Dominik Volek From Pats

RED DEER, AB - Brent Sutter, Owner/President/General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the acquisition of 18-year old forward Dominik Volek from the Regina Pats in exchange for 18-year old forward Marc McCoy, 19-year old forward Filip Vasko, and a conditional Western Hockey League Bantam Draft pick in 2015.

Volek had been playing in Sweden's Super Elite League with Farjestad. He had 5 points (2-3-5) in 13 games this season. Last year, Volek played with the Regina Pats; he had 32 points (14-18-32) in 70 games and played with the Czech Republic in the 2012 World Under-18 Hockey Championships in April.

Dominik's father, David, played six seasons with the New York Islanders from 1988-1994. Dominik is expected to join the Rebels after the Christmas break.
