Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Prince Albert SK - Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Josh Morrissey has been named to the Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects Game on January 16th in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Calgary, Alberta native has recorded 8 goals and 17 assists for 25 points so far this season, good for 7th among all WHL defencemen. The 6', 185-pouund blue liner is also tied for 3rd in goals and 2nd in power play assists by rearguards.

Last season, Morrissey set a Raiders franchise record for points by a 16-year-old defenceman, with 38 in his rookie campaign.

This will be the third consecutive year that a Raider has made the Top Prospects Game, as Morrissey follows in the footsteps of Mark McNeill and Mike Winther, who competed in the showcase en route to being drafted in the first round by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2011 and in the second round by the Dallas Stars in 2012, respectively.

The 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is proudly supported by title partner Home Hardware for the 14th straight year, along with associate sponsors Bank of Montreal, Subway, Old Dutch, and Post. The game will be broadcast live to a national audience on Sportsnet and TVA Sports beginning at 8:00 pm Atlantic.
