Real Salt Lake News Release

SALT LAKE CITY (Wednesday, February 8, 2006) - Real Salt Lake notched its first win of the preseason yesterday with a 4-2 victory over the U.S. Amateur Team at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. RSL's four goals were scored by MF Luke Kreamalmeyer, MF Adolfo Gregorio, FW Atiba Harris and FW Adam Acosta.

RSL controlled the pace throughout much of the first half, but conceded the first goal in the 26th minute when the U.S. Amateur team exploited a bad back pass to ‘keeper Noah Palmer. Real tied the game late in the first half when Kreamalmeyer scored on a 30-yard free kick that bent into the upper right-hand corner of the goal in the 40th minute.

Real began the second half with a complete lineup change. Just ten minutes into the second half, MF Robert Scarlett played a ball through to St. Kitts & Nevis' trialist Atiba Harris who scored the team's second goal in the 55th minute. The 20-year-old Harris spurned RSL's third goal when he played a ball across the top of the box to Acosta. The University of Redlands product then laid it off to Gregorio who chipped the ball over the U.S. Amateur ‘keeper in the 68th minute.

The U.S. Amateur squad added a goal to make it 3-2 after RSL failed to clear a corner kick in the 69th minute. Nonetheless, RSL sealed the game when Acosta ran onto a through ball from Gregorio for the easy goal in the 84th minute.
