LA Galaxy News Release
ARSON, CA (Wednesday, February 08, 2006) - The Los Angeles Galaxy have acquired a first-round pick in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft from the Colorado Rapids, the club announced today. To complete the trade, the club sent rookie forward Aaron King to the Rapids.
"Though we would have enjoyed seeing Aaron play for the Galaxy, we realize that having him play close to his home will give him the best chance to start and develop his career," said Galaxy President and General Manager Doug Hamilton. "Additionally, the current group we have together is exceptionally deep, which would make it very difficult for him to find playing time."
King, 23, a Denver native, was the Galaxy's fourth-round pick (48th overall) in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, held last month in Philadelphia. He played collegiately at North Carolina State University, where he earned NSCAA first-team All-American honors in 2004 and second-team plaudits in 2005.
Los Angeles Galaxy season tickets for 2006 are already on sale. For more
