Rapids Acquire Denver Native Aaron King From the Galaxy

DENVER, CO (Wednesday, February 8, 2006) - The Colorado Rapids acquired today forward Aaron King from the Los Angeles in exchange for a first round draft pick in the MLS 2007 Supplemental Draft.

King, 23, and a Denver native, was the Galaxy's fourth-round pick (48th overall) in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, held last month in Philadelphia. King returns home to the Mile High City after spending three years at North Carolina State. While with the Wolfpack, King scored 29 goals and had 12 assists. He was named first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference for both the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

King graduated from Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Colo. where he helped the men's soccer team win the state championship in 2000.
