Three weeks later, RSL adds a second fireworks extravaganza to the schedule when hosting FC Dallas on Saturday, July 22, during the Pioneer Days celebration. Other holidays on the RSL home schedule include Memorial Day and Labor Day celebrations.

"We are very excited that the 2006 season is just around the corner," said RSL General Manager Steve Pastorino. "This schedule has something for everyone including stars like Landon Donovan and Freddy Adu; four traditional holiday games and the second edition of the Rocky Mountain Cup. We can't wait to see everyone at Rice-Eccles Stadium!"

D.C. United and teen phenom Freddy Adu travel to Utah for their lone appearance on Saturday, August 5, one week after Major League Soccer's annual Sierra Mist All-Star Weekend. The 2006 MLS Cup Playoffs will begin the weekend of Saturday, October 21, inviting the top four teams from each conference. Thirteen of Real Salt Lake's 16 home games will be played on Saturdays at Rice-Eccles Stadium, with one Tuesday (July 4, Independence Day) and two Wednesday night games currently slated. The team enjoys a very balanced schedule in 2006, with no road stretches of more than two games. RSL owns a pair of three-game home stands, beginning with the Saturday, May 20 game against the Kansas City Wizards and the Saturday, July 22 game against Chivas USA.
