Last Saturday, Real Monarchs played to a 2-2 draw with OKC Energy FC, splitting points after DF Konrad Plewa put away a stunning bicycle kick for a first half lead and FW Douglas MartÃnez tallied his 11th goal of the season in the 79th minute. OKC Energy was quick to capitalize on each goal however, responding with its own through Rafael Garcia and Deshorn Brown to split the points between the two sides at Zions Bank Stadium.
Real Monarchs now hosts Las Vegas Lights FC in an effort to keep its playoff position with just ten games left in the 2019 USL Championship season. With just 2 points separating Real Monarchs from the playoff line, every contest carries weight in the final stretch of the season. Real Monarchs fell to Las Vegas Lights FC in late-March to an early second half goal. With a critical three points on the line, Real Monarchs will look to improve on its 21-3-4 (67 points) home record since 2018 as it races to make its third appearance in the USL postseason in as many years.
