Nashville SC News Release

TAMPA - A stand-out defensive performance combined with a key offensive contribution earned Nashville SC defender Bradley Bourgeois a spot on the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 26 as announced Tuesday afternoon by the league.

Bourgeois was a force on Nashville's backline in Saturday night's 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rowdies, and assisted in the team's efficient attack as well to play an important role in the result. In his performance, he completed 30 of 33 passes and won 5 of 7 duels on the pitch. His most notable moment came in the 79' minute when he sent in a clinical ball to forward Kharlton Belmar to set him up for the team's game-winning goal of the night. After receiving the ball just past midfield, Bourgeois dropped in a pass with just enough backspin to fall seamlessly into Belmar's run. Belmar then perfectly timed his one-touch volley to beat Tampa Bay's goalkeeper and lock down three points for Nashville SC on the road.

This is Bourgeois' first Team of the Week recognition of the 2019 USL Championship season. He joins Ken Tribbett (x3), Daniel Ríos, Matt Pickens, Kosuke Kimura, Alan Winn, Lebo Moloto, Forrest Lasso and Taylor Washington on the list of Nashville SC players to make the Team of the Week this year. Bourgeois was named to Team of the Week once in 2018 after a game-winning assist to Ropapa Mensah against North Carolina in Week 14. Nashville SC returns to action this Saturday, Sept. 7 in Missouri against Saint Louis FC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
