Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce the K-Wings players will serve as celebrity waiters this Sunday, November 13th to benefit the Lakeside Sanctuary for Children.

Players will be serving guests at the Firestone Grill from 4:30-7 p.m. Fans interested in attending the special fund raiser will need to call Lakeside at 269-381-4760 to make reservations. Cost for the dinner will be $25 (three course meal) and $15 for children (entree and dessert).

Serving as master of ceremony for the evening will be WWMT Sports Director Ed Kengerski.

Lakeside is a non-profit residential center for abused and neglected children. Lakeside has served children on its Kalamazoo campus for over 130 years. Currently, they have three programs serving long-term, short-term and crisis units. Lakeside's long-term units serve boys ages 8 through 17 and their short-term and crisis units support both boys and girls. Lakeside's treatment philosophy embraces the Sanctuary model, which is premised on creating an environment of physical, psychological, social and moral safety at Lakeside. The organization has had tremendous referral growth over the past year, which is a testament to the community's belief in our capacity to provide a safe and secure environment for children.
