Fort Wayne Komets News Release

Fort Wayne, IN --- This Friday, Nov. 11 doubles-up as Veteran's Night and Hurricane Relief Night as the Komets host the Missouri River Otters at 8pm at the War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The night will feature special tributes to American veterans and a special presentation of a United States flag that proudly flew in the face of the enemy during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

As a special salute for their service to America on Veterans Day, all veterans will receive free admission to this Friday night's Komet home game with proof of service.

Also, the game will be a benefit for the victims of the 2005 hurricane season. The Komets are offering the chance for Fort Wayne area businesses, organizations and groups to help the victims of the 2005 hurricane season by treating employees, customers, family and friends to the game. Tickets are being offered in blocks of 50, 100 and 250 at reduced prices with a portion of ticket sales going to the American Red Cross and their hurricane relief effort. The Komets will make these donations in the names of participating companies and groups.

For information and to place special ticket orders, organizations and groups are encouraged to call the Komet office at 260-483-1641 or visit the Komet's website at www.komets.com.

Also, the Komets would like to encourage fans to bring non-perishable food items to the game to be donated to the hurricane relief effort. "This is a chance for Komet fans and the Komet organization to assist those who can use everyone's help at this time," said Komet President Michael Franke. All non-perishable food items will be collected at the door prior to the game.

Doors open at 7pm for Friday night's tilt against the Missouri River Otters. Faceoff is at 8pm.

After Friday night, the Komets complete a double-header home set when they host the Rockford IceHogs Saturday at 7:30pm before traveling to Quad City for a 2pm matinee against the Mallards Sunday.

Plenty of good seats remain on sale for this Friday and Saturday night Komet home games. Tickets can be purchased at the coliseum ticket office and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
