BISMARCK, ND, January 10, 2007 - Through the Reading Wizards program, the Dakota Wizards All-Star Reading Team will visit local elementary schools this week to talk with students about reading and discuss the importance of academic achievement.

Courtesy of program sponsors MDU, Tesoro's, Dakota Community Bank and the Bismarck Tribune, Wizards players will provide over 5000 students in Bismarck Public Schools with a bookmark for them to use while reading. The bottom of the bookmark includes a coupon for a free ticket for each student to attend the Wizards home game versus the Anaheim Arsenal on Sunday, January 14th.

"The Reading Wizards program has been a huge success in the past in reaching out to the kids", said Wizards General Manager Tom Wagganer. "Coach Joerger and I are excited about enhancing the program and having the opportunity to try and make an impact with Bismarck students."

Reading Wizards is the primary educational component of the Dakota Wizards community relations program. A spin off of the NBA Care's program which is a league-wide initiative among the NBA, WNBA and D-League, focusing on helping youth establish a love for reading and gain an understanding of the value and importance of literacy.

After visiting Roosevelt Elementary and Soleheim Elementary earlier this week, the Wizards All-Star Reading Team will visit Riverside Elementary at 1:30pm Thursday. .
