Reading Royals News Release
Royals Notes:
- The Royals won all four games the team played last week. Reading's record is now 19-6-2=40, which places Reading in second place in the North Division of the American Conference and translates into a .741 win percentage-which is the third best win percentage in the league.
- All four of the Royals wins this week came on the road, extending Reading's road winning streak to seven games, which is the longest active ECHL streak in that category at this time.
- The longest road win streak in the ECHL this season belongs to the Las Vegas Wranglers, who won ten consecutive road games from November 22 through December 31, 2005.
- Reading's current seven game road winning streak ties a team record. (The Royals also won seven consecutive road games last season.)
- The Royals' next three games are all on the road.
- Last Tuesday, Reading won the team's first game in history against the Stockton Thunder by a score of 3-1. In that game, the Thunder scored the game's first goal (by Dave McCullough at 2:50 of the first period.)
- The Thunder also scored the game's first goal in the Royals' 4-3 shootout win over Stockton last Friday. (In that game, Aaron Foster scored 42 seconds into the hockey game, which is the quickest that any opponent has scored to start a game against the Royals this season.)
- In Reading's 6-4 win over Stockton last Wednesday and the Royals' 6-2 win over Long Beach on Saturday, Reading scored the game's first goal.
- The Royals have compiled a record of 12-0-2 when they score the game's first goal; and Reading's record is 7-6-0 when the opponent scores first.
- The Royals' first goal on Tuesday was scored by Doug Christiansen at the 8:24 mark of the first period to tie the score at one.
- In Reading's 6-4 win last Wednesday, Christiansen also scored the Royals' fourth goal (at 19:59 of the second period while the Royals were on the power play to make the score 4-2 Reading). He also assisted on the Royals' fifth goal in that game.
- Christiansen also assisted on two of the Royals' goals in the 4-3 shootout victory over Reading on Friday.
- Christiansen also scored two goals in Reading's 6-2 win over Long Beach last Saturday, including the game's first goal (at 1:24 of the first period on Reading's first shot on goal) and the Royals' sixth goal into an empty net with 29 seconds remaining in the game. (This was the third two-goal game of the season for Christiansen.)
- Christiansen has now had three consecutive multi-point games in a row-and seven multi-point games over the course of the season.
- Christiansen is currently riding a seven game point streak, during which he has scored six goals and assisted on four others (ten points).

- After Wednesday's game, Pandolfo announced that he was leaving the Royals to play for EHC Munich in the German 2.Bundesliga.
- In Tuesday's game, Nathan Martz of the Stockton Thunder was awarded a penalty shot at the 16:41 mark of the first period of play. (The score was 1-1 at the time of the penalty shot.) This was the first penalty shot of the season against the Royals. Martz did not score in his attempt.
- In Wednesday's game, Joel Irwin of the Stockton Thunder was awarded a penalty shot at the 12:50 mark of the second period. (The score was 3-1 Reading at the time of the penalty shot.) Irwin did not score in his attempt.
- The Royals' goaltender in both penalty shots against this week was Yutaka Fukufuji.
- Yutaka Fukufuji picked up the win for the Royals in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over Stockton.
- This was the first game that Fukufuji played for the Royals since his re-assignment to Reading (from the Manchester Monarchs) on Monday, December 26.
- This was the first game that Fukufuji had played at all since December 4, 2005, when he was the goaltender of record in Manchester's 3-2 loss to the Portland Pirates. This was also Fukufuji's first game for the Royals since a 7-4 win on November 11 against the Dayton Bombers.

This marked the seventh time this season that Reading has allowed the opposition to score four or more goals against the team in a single game-and four of those games happened to be in the last nine games played, i.e. only 3 times in the first 18 games the Royals played did the opposition score four or more goals.
