
Rays Open Up Conference Finals Tonight

Games One and Two of the American Conference Finals will be aired live at Bobby Hartin's Sports Grill on Sam Rittenberg and Orange Grove. Bobby Hartin's is the only place in Charleston to catch Stingrays Playoff Hockey. Wear your red and support your Stingrays tonight and tomorrow.

The Stingrays fans are familiar with the Cyclones as T.J. McElroy and Maxime Daigneault both played for the Rays.
Sean Collins leads all Stingray defensemen in points with eight (1g, 7a).
South Carolina ranks fifth in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with a 2.53 goals-against average.

Former Stingray McElroy (who was traded this season to Idaho for Mike Gabinet) leads the Cyclone defensemen in points with five (0g, 5a).
Cincinnati forward Ryan Maki played a combined 57 games during the regular season and playoffs this season for the American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals; defenseman Bryan Schmidt played a combined 50 contests for Milwaukee; F Jean-Michel Daoust played a combined 40 games for the Rockford IceHogs and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins; and defenseman Conrad Martin saw action in 43 matches for the Hamilton Bulldogs.
The Cyclones are 7-1 when scoring the first goal of the game in the playoffs this year.

The Utah Grizzlies and the Las Vegas Wranglers start their series on the 12th.
The Las Vegas Wranglers have four players with five or more goals; Peter Ferraro, Shawn Limpright, Kelly Czuy and Curtis Fraser.
On the other side, the Utah Grizzlies have four players in double digits in points; Keith Johnson, James Sanford, Ryan Kinasewich and Tyler Haskins.

The South Carolina Stingrays are playing the Cincinnati Cyclones for the E.A. "Bud" Gingher Memorial trophy which is presented to the winner of the American Conference Championship. The winner of the National Conference gets the Bruce Taylor trophy. The Rays have never won the Gingher trophy, but in 2001 they won the Taylor trophy which at the time was given to the winner of the Southern Conference.
